Metropolitan Tikhon to Concelebrate Hierarchical Liturgy with Archbishop Stefan of the Macedonian Orthodox Church

On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon will concelebrate the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy with His Beatitude Archbishop Stefan of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric. This historic concelebration will mark the Orthodox Church in America’s formal recognition of the world’s newest and youngest autocephalous Orthodox Church.
Preparations for this momentous event have been underway since Metropolitan Tikhon’s initial public acknowledgment of the Macedonian Orthodox Church during the 21st All-American Council, held July 14–18, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. Several hierarchs and clergy of the Orthodox Church in America are also expected to participate in the service.
The Divine Liturgy will begin at 9:00 AM at St. Nicholas Cathedral, located at 3500 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Washington, DC. Liturgical responses will be sung by the Archdiocesan Choir of Washington, DC.
The service will be further blessed by the presence of the Hawaiian Myrrh-Streaming Iveron Icon of the Mother of God and the holy relics of the newly canonized Righteous Olga of Kwethluk, both of which will be available for veneration by the faithful.
