On January 6, 2026, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon presided at the celebration of the Great Feast of the Theophany of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at St. Mark Orthodox Church in Bethesda, Maryland.

Concelebrating with His Beatitude were Archpriest Alessandro Margheritino, Chancellor of the Orthodox Church in America; Archpriest Gregory Safchuk, Rector of St. Mark’s and Dean of the Washington Deanery; and Priest Nicholas Roth. Deacon Michael Mihailov and Deacon Matthew Prentice also served.

The liturgical services were enhanced by the beautiful responses of the St. Mark’s choir, directed by Sharon Sielinski.

In his homily, His Beatitude reflected on Theophany as the sanctification of all creation, describing the Lord’s baptism in the Jordan as a renewal not only of the world, but also of the faithful, who are called to live in the light of Christ’s divine revelation.

A festive meal followed the Divine Liturgy.
